A newly formed group in Rodey is organising a picnic with a difference in the village.
Light Up Rodley is hosting a Great Get Together Picnic on Saturday, June 17 at 1pm in Rodley Community Garden.
The Great Get Together has been organised by the family and friends of murdered Batley MP Jo Cox, who are inviting people across the country to mark the anniversary of her death by organising or attending a celebration in their community.
A Light Up Rodley spokesperson said:
“This is a chance for the community to get together. Bring a picnic and blanket, and be ready to meet new friends.”

Light Up Rodley runs events throughout the year, with all money raised reinvested into the community.
As previously reported by The Dispatch, a Great Get Together event is also being held in Burley in the form of a teddy brears’ picnic and big lunch on Saturday, June 17.
