Councillors in ‘outer’ West Leeds will decide a variety of funding applications – including security fencing at Western Flatts park in Wortley – at their next meeting on Monday.
Members of the Outer West Communty Committee will meet at the Atlanta Street Sheltered Housing Complex Community Centre in Stanningley at (6pm) to discuss what they will fund from their annual budget.
Applications for funding include:
- £2,500 towards Pudsey Seniors’ Lunch Club, run by Pudsey Community Project to support a weekly lunch club for older people.
- £5,935 towards Flourishing Families in Farnley, which delivers family cookery clubs, community cooking sessions and early years oracy activities.
- £750 towards a free weekly youth club for young people aged 10-17 in Tyersal, run by Leeds Youth Services.
- £1,950 for bench improvements on Swinnow Moor.
- £3,575 towards the installation of ‘birds mouth’ fencing at Western Flatts Park to prevent unauthorised and nuisance parking, protect green space from vehicle damage, and improve safety for park users.
