Jim Corah: Why I support West Leeds Dispatch (and community media)

19 February 2019

Earlier this week West Leeds Dispatch launched an appeal for ‘pound a week’ supporters to help offset our costs and help us grow.

The response has been brilliant so far, with 13 people signing up in the first 24 hours to give just £4 a month each to help offset our running costs.

One of those is Kirkstall resident Jim Corah, who is also heavily involved in both Kirkstall in Bloom and Kirkstall Festival. Jim said:

West Leeds Dispatch has always been a true friend to both Kirkstall in Bloom and Kirkstall Festival. Its support has helped us spread the message of our work throughout the community.”

A vibrant and trusted local media plays a vital role in ensuring local democracy is alive and well. It also connects you to local groups and organisations, celebrates success stories and empowers you with important local information – but it costs time and money to put together.

If you value local news, we hope you’ll join Jim and support us by signing up here.

If signing up via Patreon isn’t your thing, you can also pay by standing order. Here are our bank details:
