West Leeds Rugby Union Club will hold the second West Fest on Saturday, 14th July, in aid of brain tumour charity Will’s Way.

The club and charity have come together to put on a day of entertainment with five-a-side rugby from 11am and music and food from 1pm to 10pm.

Eight local artists will perform free of charge to help raise funds. There will be free games for children.

Event spokesman Kier Breakwell said:

“We were overwhelmed when we launched the event last year and we are looking to exceed last year’s efforts.”

Mr Breakwell, who recently launched his public speaking career, added:

“This has been a busy time for me but I was determined to make this happen. It’s such a fantastic charity.”

Will’s Way charity was established by 15-year-old Will Barker, from Stanningley Rugby Club, with help from family and friends. Will, in September 2016, was diagnosed with a Grade 2 brain tumour.

Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the day, under 10s get free entry – go to @westfestleeds for more info.

West Leeds RUFC is based on Blue Hill Lane, Wortley.
