Relax outside with books as Farsley prepares for its ‘Big Read’

An event bringing people together through a shared one of books is taking place in Farsley this weekend.

This Sunday, 31 May, sees the Farsley Big Read run on Weaver’s Lawn at Sunny Bank Mills from 2pm-4pm.

Deckchairs and blankets will be set up, and bookworms are invited to come along, bring your friends, family and your favourite read in the Farsley sunshine.

A spokesperson for Farsley’s independent book shop Truman Books said: “We’d love to help everyone make the most of this weather and as it’s the National Year of Reading, we’re joining the UK-wide campaign to inspire more people to make reading a regular part of their lives, by inviting you all to take some time to relax outside with a book.

“Why not be a tourist for the afternoon and enjoy everything this destination has to offer, from the gallery to the shops to the restaurants and bars.

“We’ll have deckchairs set up but feel free to bring blankets, cushions and maybe some nibbles, We can’t wait to see what you’re reading!”
