Pudsey-based funeral directors Mahony & Ward have extended a helping hand to support the ‘Feed Leeds’ project, an initiative dedicated to supporting homeless people in and around Leeds.

Mahony & Ward Funeral Directors are calling upon the generous hearts of Leeds residents to donate what they can to support the food bank operated by the project.

The ‘Feed Leeds’ initiative is not just about addressing immediate needs, it’s about creating a sustainable support system for those experiencing homelessness in the Leeds area. The group has seen demand for their services greatly increase due to the rising cost of living.

The funeral directors, based on Robin Lane, are acting as a drop-off point for the food bank so people can drop off any donations at their branch. The team at Mahony & Ward then pass on all donations received to volunteers at the food bank every Friday, so that they can be given out to those in need that afternoon.

Drop off point: Mahony & Ward Funeral Directors, Pudsey.

Richard Hardwick, Business Leader at Mahony & Ward Funeral Directors said: “When I learned about the fantastic work Feed Leeds is doing in our community, I knew we had to get involved.  At Mahony & Ward, we’ve always believed in serving our community beyond our role as funeral directors. It’s truly heartening to witness the positive impact this initiative is having on individuals and families in need.”

Feed Leeds are appealing for donations of non-perishable food item and personal care products. Donations can be made via Mahony & Ward Funeral Directors collection box, located at The Manor Hall, Robin Lane, Pudsey.
