Pudsey Community Project boosted by company’s support

A Pudsey company has announced Pudsey Community Project and Dementia UK as its charities of the year.

Mechanical, electrical and public health service provider, G&H, shortlisted three West Yorkshire-based charities, with Pudsey Community Project receiving the most colleague votes.

Based at the heart of the community, Pudsey Community Project offers a range of programmes especially for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable. Its aim is to transform Pudsey and the surrounding areas by providing a food bank, sustainable food support, seniors’ lunch club, free children’s clothing, youth and children’s sessions, and a repair cafe.

In addition, having experienced the devastating impact of dementia first-hand, the directors have also selected Dementia UK. The charity’s Admiral Nurse service provides specialist dementia support for families.

Through a series of fundraising initiatives and events, G&H’s colleagues are aiming to raise £40,000 and awareness for its 2025 official charity partners.

Graham Kelly, chairman at G&H said: “Over the years, we have raised an incredible amount of money for various charities. For 2025, we decided to focus our efforts by selecting two Charities of the Year, aiming to raise a significant amount to enable them to make an even greater difference.

“Narrowing down the charities, nominated by our staff, to a shortlist of three was extremely challenging, as each one plays a vital role in supporting our local community. A huge congratulations to Pudsey Community Project, they should be extremely proud of their incredible work.

“I, and others at G&H, have been personally impacted by dementia and supported by Dementia UK. The care and advice provided by the Admiral Nurses made an incredible difference and we’re keen to ensure others benefit from Dementia UK, by selecting it as our official charity partner.”

G&H are based off South Parade.

Richard Dimery, director of Pudsey Community Project, said: “We cannot thank G&H colleagues enough for both nominating and voting for Pudsey Community Project to be one of their official charity partners in 2025.

“Times are extremely tough, especially for those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable. The support provided by G&H will mean we can continue to make a positive difference for our local community and help transform lives.”

The project is based in Fartown, Pudsey, and covers an area of around 20,000 households in Pudsey, Calverley, Farsley, Swinnow, Tyersal, Rodley and Woodhall.

Established in 1998, G&H is a leading MEP provider. Its 200-strong, experienced team design, manage, deliver and maintain every aspect of MEP schemes.
