A Grade II Listed former district council office and library in Farsley has received planning permission for new internal doors.
The 19th century building, now used as a dental practice, is based behind Farsley Cenotaph and a planning application approved by Leeds City Council this week will see existing doors replaced with fire doors.
A heritage report submitted with the application states: “The proposals are required in order to improve the fire safety of Farsley Dental Practice.
“Care and consideration will be given to the Historic nature of the building and works will be conducted by suitable Contractors with relevant experience and credentials.
“It would be of benefit to users of the building who will be provided with an increase in time to evacuate from the building in the event of a fire.”
