Lower Wortley: Police appeal after man seriously hurt in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Lower Wortley yesterday evening.

Officers were called at 8.15pm to Lower Wortley Road where a Toyota Celica was in collision with a Ford Kuga outside a bingo hall.

Both cars stopped to exchange details but as the driver of the Ford got out, the driver of the Toyota drove off.

The Toyota subsequently overturned into nearby gardens whilst turning a corner.

The driver of the Toyota, a man aged 39, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or anyone with dash cam footage to call police on 101 quoting log number 1904 of 26/7 or use the live chat facility on
