The MAYhem beer festival took place at Horsforth Brewery and Taproom at the weekend to showcase the beer they have on offer and to mark the start of summer.
The event was well attended. The bar and the garden hosted a myriad of people enjoying the day with their friends and family.

Andy Booth, a punter who was enjoying the sunshine in the garden with some of his friends, said: “I just think it’s always a good vibe and a good feel because it’s a community pub and the community get together.”

Jenni Kerslake is the tap room manager. She said: “It’s been a pretty decent festival, you can feel the good vibes of the community, everybody’s come out to support us which we really appreciate.”
The brewery was founded by Mark Costello in August 2017 when he started brewing beer in his own garage.
The beer he was brewing became quite popular and, having started on Station Road, he moved his enterprise to New Road Side in September 2020.

They sell a wide range of beers and cider from the bar and tap room.
The best selling beer on offer is personal brew Horsforth Pale which is described as bitter, hoppy, light and very easy to drink.

The other drinks on sale are brewed by breweries stretching from around this country and beyond. Beer brewed in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire are all available. They also have beer from Edinburgh and Caerphilly in Wales.
Horsforth Brewery also puts on comedy nights and board game evenings. They will host another festival in August.
