Pudsey Greenside Primary School is to benefit from a £312,000 boost after council bosses green lit a raft of improvements.
The money will expand the existing kitchen, which will enable the school to prepare meals on site as opposed to having them delivered.
It will also build a new bin enclosure which will means that bins will be situated a safe distance away from the school and the height of the existing school fence will be increased.
Council chiefs have agreed to award the £312,335.08 contract to Pontefract-based RH Fullwood & Co Ltd, a private company which specialises in undertaking construction schemes for local authorities.
The whole scheme will be completed by Friday 21st December.
