Tickets are now available for a night of Transport & Steam, brought to you by the Friends of Pudsey Roller Group.
The group are holding a pie & pea supper alongside an illustrated talk by Philip Balmforth – a working volunteer from the Keighley & Worth Valley Line – on Thursday 8th November at 7:45pm in Farsley Liberal Club. Philip will be discussing the history of the branch line, its closure by British Railways, the reopening as a preserved line in 1968, and 50th reopening anniversary up to the present time.
The Pudsey Park steamroller was a hugely popular attraction for local children for a number of decades until it fell into disrepair and was removed in 1990. The group now aim to raise money to restore the Fowler steamroller back to it’s glory.
This is a ticket only event and tickets at £8 each, including supper, are available from Jackie Gowing, 15 Balmoral Way, Yeadon,
Leeds. LS19 7WF (please include an SAE), or phone John on 0113 2570371 or e-mail: pudseyroller@yahoo.co.uk
