Raise a glass to first Leeds Festival of Brewers

The first-ever Festival of Brewers event takes place on 29th and 30th June 2018 with New Craven Hall hosting – which can be found just one-mile south of Leeds City Train Station, writes Mike Hampshire.

This is a concept thought up by me, Mike Hampshire, founder and beer evangelist at Mike’s Tap Room Ltd and a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers.

All too often, independent beer festivals choose to focus their attention on the same, larger, popular UK craft breweries.

This makes it difficult for the hundreds of smaller breweries across the UK to share the spotlight.

Festival of Brewers aims to address that by only showcasing the small and independent breweries that can be found local to Leeds.

This year, the attention falls on nine breweries, who will be selling beer on draft (cask and keg), and in bottles and cans. All breweries will be attending both days of the festival.

  • Nomadic Beers
  • Meanwood Brewery
  • EYES Brewing
  • Quirky Ales
  • Wilde Child Brewing Co.
  • Wishbone Brewery
  • Sunbeam Ales
  • Crooked Brewing
  • Horsforth Brewery

Two independent food traders are also attending the event.

  • Little Bao Boy (Friday only)
  • Ruby’s Street Kitchen (Saturday only)
