Farsley Celtic 4 New Mills 0
Farsley Celtic continued their fine run of form with a comfortable 4-0 victory overhapless New Mills, writes Thomas Ritchie.
Paddy Miller opened the scoring for Farsley after just 80 seconds as he flicked in Lewis Sugden’s corner at the near post.
Immediately after Celtic doubled their lead as Aiden Savory beat the offside trap and slotted home.
Paul Walker then almost made it three in the first ten minutes, however his low free-kick was pushed away from the bottom corner by Oliver Martin.
Ross Daly then scored the pick of the goals as he volleyed home at the back post from Lewis Nightingale’s pinpoint cross.
Nightingale had a chance to get a goal for himself afterwards, however he fired just over from the edge of the box. Despite this Nightingale did get his goal as he tucked a loose ball into the back of the net.
Savory had another glorious chance on the brink of halftime but he failed to take it as he headed just wide from Sugden’s cross.
Early on in the second half there was more chaos in the New Mills box as the ball fell to Miller from a corner, he then fired goalwards only to see Martin make an excellent save.
Farsley’s chances were limited after this as New Mills improved their performance, and Aiden Savory’s effort straight at Martin was as good as it got.
New Mills did create one chance late on, however Miller was back to clear the ball off the line and maintain Farsley’s clean sheet.
