A bus trip to Wensleydale and many tries saw Yarnbury produce a much-needed win in the league.
After some frustrating losses in their last two matches, Yarnbury knew this was a win they must needed if they wanted to finish top half of the table.
Yarnbury quickly struck first as James Longhawn offloaded the ball to winger Josh Bateson to score the first try.
After some quick foot work by Jem Windridge-France, he found fly half Danny Pound on the inside for him to score under the posts to which he would convert his own try.

With two early tries and a conversion giving Yarnbury a 0-12 lead, Wensleydale would respond with a try of their own. Centre Matthew Price was able to collect a quick pass from the ruck to score the try at the corner. Fly half Euan Haigh scored the conversion to reduce Yarnbury’s lead by five points.
Try three for Yarnbury saw an excellent chip and chase by centre Bateson, which led to the try. It wouldn’t take long for Yarnbury to bag the try bonus point, Will Marshall going through the Wensleydale defence to score. Pound scored the conversion, as Yarnbury led 7-24 at half time.
After a nearly try-less 30 minutes in the second half, Yarnbury would finally break down the Wensleydale defence with the battering ram that was Kieren Beal to score try five for his team.
Yarnbury needed a more than just a battering ram, they needed a prop and a fast one in the form of one James Daffern. He collected a huge offload from Sam Puxley as the front rower took it upon himself to show great pace and score under the posts to the roar of the Yarnbury bench and management.

The two tries were clearly bringing back momentum for Yarnbury as Marshall scored his second try off the back of another Puxley offload. The final try saw a second score by inspirational prop winger Daffern scoring from the maul.
A great win for Yarnbury for their tenth win in the league and bouncing back to third place.
The 2XV were able to get a huge win over Leeds Corinthians and the Under-14s and Colts bringing in silverware.
Next match: Yarnbury return to Brownberrie Lane to face Harrogate Pythons. Final score at Cawkill Park, Wensleydale 7, Yarnbury 52.
