Farsley Celtic ave paid tribute to one off the club’s vice presidents, Margaret Lobley, who passed away earlier this week.

Margaret was a stalwart volunteer at the club. Over the years she acted as club secretary, being involved as the club was promoted to the then Football Conference Premier, as well as many seasons before.

When the club reformed in 2010, alongside Margaret Palmer, she looked after the half time hospitality at the club.

Club director Robert Winterbottom said Margaret was ‘one of our own’: “Although she hadn’t been able to attend many games in the last few years, she has always kept a very keen interest in the comings and goings at ‘The Nest’. She made many calls to myself and the rest of the board – and certainly kept us all on our feet!

“We wish all the best to son Hayden and the wider family.”

Fans also paid tribute on social media.

Terr Smith tweeted: “Rest in peace Margaret a truly lovely women Thoughts are with Margaret’s family and friends and everyone associated with our club.”
