On Saturday West Leeds Dispatch‘s very own Jean Hollings reached an amazing milestone of 700 parkrun volunteer credits!
Runners, walkers and volunteers turned out in force to help celebrate this epic achievement where Jean was presented with cards, flowers and other gifts. There was also an amazing cake.

Her impressive volunteer attendances include:
- Bramley 440
- Bramley junior parkrun 236
- The rest being around England,Ireland, Scotland, Isle of Man, Europe and Brooklyn Bridge in New York.
- She has also taken part in 53 actual parkruns at 21 different venues.
Jean has been a stalwart of Parkrun since she became Event Director at Bramley in 2017 and said: “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
“I just love the community spirit Parkrun brings… everyone is so friendly.”

As membership secretary of running club Bramley Breezers, Jean also takes on the role of volunteer co-ordinator for the many events they partake in.
Following yesterday’s Bramley parkrun the celebrations continued in the local Wetherspoons where more gifts were given and where Jean admitted she was “totally overwhelmed”.
Parkruns are held worldwide and Bramley’s is each Saturday, meeting at Bramley Park 8.45am and setting off at 9am. More details can be found here.
Jean is the community reporter support and development worker at West Leeds Dispatch. She won the January 2018 WLD Good Egg award after being acknowledged by park runners and Breezer for her tireless work in the community.
