The celebration of 125 years of Morrisons has brought a massive boost to Bramley Care Bears (BCB) community group.
Jane Parkin, the charity champion at Morrisons Kirkstall, nominated the Bramley Care Bears to win an award of £8,000.
Volunteers at BCB are using the money to purchase five fridges and five freezers to help their food distribution sessions with a continuous supply of fresh produce and freezer foods to support the community of Bramley.
Angela Vollens, from BCB, said: “Thank you so much again Jane and Morrisons for your support in helping Bramley Care Bears achieve this.”
Food distribution sessions are held at Broadlea Community Centre.
Morrisons Foundation’s Community Spaces Fund which was established to celebrate the supermarket’s 125th anniversary. Since launching, over £44 million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
