With Valentine’s Day just around the corner with flowers and a box of chocolates, Kirkstall Art Trail is looking to partner with artists, contributors, hosts and venues, and supporters.
The volunteer-run community art trail is seeking participants to help make this year’s event evermore spectacular. Unlike Charlie Brown daydreaming about the Little Red-Haired Girl or unpicked contestants on Take Me Out, Kirkstall Art Trail knows it will meet its matches.
Having launched in 2015, Kirkstall Art Trail is a free yearly celebration of art, creativity, inclusion, and community. Taking place on Saturday, 19 July 2025 and Sunday, 20 July 2025, visitors will be able to engage with many forms of art in venues across Kirkstall and the surrounding area. Hosts vary from residents’ homes, community organisations, and businesses.
Aiming to encourage engagement and education in art, 2024’s successful event grew in terms of venues, volunteers, and variety with poetry, music, and stone cutting included. Arts organisations from across west Leeds also participated.

Want to get involved this year?Â
Artists and contributors can submit their applications to the Kirkstall Art Trail’s page on CuratorSpace. On the KAT website there’s details on what kinds of art and contributions the event would like to see though these are primarily based in Kirkstall, west Leeds and surrounding areas. All art forms are welcome. The deadline is 4 April 2025.
Maybe exhibiting art is not for everyone. Thankfully Kirkstall Art Trail is looking for volunteers and potential venues. Get in contact with the group to discuss more.
Braced the potential squeeze on community and cultural funding from Leeds City Council’s Community Fund, Kirkstall Art Trail is looking for supporters to donate and sponsor the event.
Every support helps ensure the event remains free for visitors and artists, and helps pay towards the workshops and other activities.
Kirkstall Art Trail is completely volunteer-run. Everyone who organises the art trail does so for their community.
Kirkstall Art Trail is a free event that places on Saturday, 19 July 2025 and Sunday, 20 July 2025 between 11am-5pm, with venues across Kirkstall hosting artists and workshops.
There will be a upcycle fashion show and spoken word open mic, and a Poetry Trail across Kirkstall during the weekend. Visitors will a digital and hard copy maps to aid their time on the Trail.
