For Farsley wildlife photographer Farsley’s Rosie Dutton, the fox is well out of the bag.
Her photo of an adorable young fox has been chosen as the winner of the Mammal Society’s Mammal Photograph of the Year in their people’s choice category.
Rosie said: “I’m grateful to everyone who voted for my photo for two reasons. It is a wonderful picture. However, this support is helping me get closer to achieving my goal of becoming a full-time professional wildlife photographer and videographer.
“I also want to thank this amazing little fox family who welcomed me observing them in their habitat in local woods in West Leeds.
“I’m looking forward to this closeness hopefully repeating itself with the babies this year. Everyone benefits from closeness to wildlife in its natural setting. I want to congratulate the photographers who won awards in the different categories as we all work together to showcase the beauty of British wildlife in all its glory.
“People need good news. If we appreciate our wildlife and respect all living things around us, we will all benefit both physically and mentally and cope better with the often crazy dysfunctional world we live in. I’m forever grateful for the wildlife which keeps my heart full.”
