West Leeds: Police issue warning over fake £20 notes

Police have issued a warning after a number of poor-quality fake £20 notes were found in Armley.

Officers say the texture of the fake notes is grainy and if you hold them up in the light they will have a solid silver line running from top to bottom in them.

A spokesperson said:

“Please be aware that there are a large amount of fake £20 notes in the Inner West area. The five below were seized in the Armley area. They are of poor quality and they do not have the solid silver line running through the note. The paper is also of poor quality.

“Please check all your notes.”
