Against a backdrop of Christmas trees and the warmth of mulled wine, business owners from West Leeds and beyond gathered to toast the launch of a new networking event.
The Leeds Collective networking event offers the chance for local businesses and freelancers to get together, share their knowledge, and find opportunities to work together.
Described as ‘an informal, relaxed event’, it was the first official get together for the group, which is hosted by Content Creation Agency Dabble and Cheerleader PR, and it took place at the Little Leaf Café at Palmer Plants in Calverley.
The group brings together two previously independent communities: Female Leaders of Farsley (FLOF) and the Calverley Collective, in a collaboration that aims to create a bigger network of support and opportunities for self-employed business owners and freelancers in the local area.
Reflecting on the event, Maggie Senior, Co-Founder of Content Creation Agency Dabble, said: ‘We want to say a huge thank you to those who made it down to our event. It was so lovely to meet some new faces and we all made some useful connections, which was great.’
Caroline Joynson, Founder of Cheerleader PR, who also helps organise the events said: ‘When you work for yourself you can feel very lonely and disconnected from others, so these events provide a great opportunity to socialise and feel like part of a community.’
The meetings will take place every other month, with the next get together expected to take place in January, and Maggie and Caroline are keen to invite more people to join them.
