West Leeds burglaries
Police investigating two linked burglaries involving vulnerable victims in West Leeds have released an e-fit image of a suspect.
At about 6pm on Tuesday, October 13, offenders attempted to sneak into an address off Haddon Road, Burley but were unable to fully open the door as the victim’s mobility scooter was in the way.
They were then disturbed by other family members arriving at the address.
At about 5.15pm on Friday, October 9, the man shown in the e-fit (above) called at an 84-year-old woman’s home off Queenswood Drive. He spoke to her about gardening work before stealing her purse containing cash and a bank card.
PC Alana Scott, of Leeds District Neighbourhood Crime Team, said:
“This man has clearly targeted this victims due to their vulnerability and we urgently need to identify him. We are linking the incidents on the basis of the similar descriptions given by the witnesses and the proximity of the offences.”
Anyone who recognises the man or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact PC 2129 Scott at Weetwood Police Station via 101.
