SEAGULLS’ Winter Market is a weekend-long extravaganza putting local makers and creators in the spotlight.

Creative arts and crafts will showcase the talents of independent businesses, ranging from prints and knitwear through to soaps and jewellery and lots more.

The perfect Christmas present – or even a treat for yourself – will be found here!

The extravanganza is being held at Seagulls’ base off Kirkstall Road on 26 and 27 November and will also feature a raft of fantastic creative workshops.

Attendees can get creative by joining fun jewellery, print and decorative workshops among others.

There will also be a mosaic space to satisfy those seeking a creative challenge.

You can book onto the workshops via this Eventbrite link: http://seagulls.eventbrite.co.uk.

As you may know, Seagulls is a nationally recognised community enterprise which aims to improve the environment through the recycling and re-use of paint materials. Customers can buy their bespoke, reclaimed artisan-mixed paint, which can be mixed to any colour chart.

So far they have diverted 4 million litres of paint from landfill. This is the equivalent to filling 50,000 household baths with paint!

Seagulls aims to to divert waste materials from landfill for the benefit of the Leeds community, raising awareness for recycling and reuse, while reducing carbon emissions.

Founded by Cat and Kate around a kitchen table in 2002, it aims to provide training, volunteering and employment opportunities for some of the most marginalised people across Leeds.

You can also check out their ongoing programme of creative woirkshops.

Did you know that Seagulls also has an online shop selling creative kits and merchandise? Go to https://seagullsreuse.org.uk.
