Volunteers who run events and help maintain Horsforth Hall Park have applied for permission to site a storage container there.
The Friends of Horsforth Hall Park group has asked for planning permission from Leeds City Council to put the storage container near the community garden and Japanese Garden.
A planning statement submitted by the Friends said: “We have a large amount of equipment for our volunteer groups and require storage space.
“The gardening groups wish to store their gardening equipment and also table, benches and craft equipment they sometimes use for school and youth group visits. The junior park run on a Sunday also wishes to store their equipment with us.
“We wish to site this storage equipment close to our community garden and Japanese Garden, but not where it can be seen by residents on Hall Lane. We will put up trellising on three sides to include climbing plants and a sedum room and planting around the container.”
WLD reported in December that councillors on the Outer North West Community Committee approved a £2,728 grant towards the container, which would serve as a central hub for outdoor educational initiatives and help better organise and grow their activities.
