Councillors in inner West Leeds have agreed to commit almost £12,000 to protect an area of public open space from ongoing vandalism.

A 1.8 metre-high metal palisade fence will be erected on the boundary to prevent further vandalism at the parkland, off Sandford Road in Kirkstall.

Councillors on the inner west community committee agreed to pay £11,994 towards the fencing, at the request of the council’s parks and countryside department.

The inner west community committee is made up of nine councillors from Armley, Bramley & Stanningley and Kirkstall wards, along with community representatives.
