New Farnley hosts over 50s cricket international

By Noel Bullock

Cricket fans are in for a real treat as New Farnley Cricket Club plays hosts an international fixture on Sunday, 26 July 2026, when England Over 50s take on New Zealand Over 50s in what promises to be a superb day’s cricket.

With a 12pm start, spectators can look forward to watching two talented sides packed with experienced players competing in an entertaining contest at one of Yorkshire’s premier cricket grounds.

Adding extra local interest to the occasion is the involvement of New Farnley Cricket Club. Former New Farnley wicket-keeper batsman Craig Russell will be pulling on the Three Lions shirt as he represents England Over 50’s against New Zealand Over 50’s, giving the home crowd a familiar face to get behind.

Meanwhile, New Farnley’s Club Secretary, Richard Good — a proud Kiwi and former top-order batsman — will no doubt be watching with great interest as his country of birth takes on the side representing his adopted home. With plenty of friendly rivalry both on and off the field, it promises to be a memorable afternoon for everyone involved.

The bar will be open throughout the day, with cold drinks, food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Match ball sponsorship is still available for this fixture.

For just one game, your business or organisation can show its support for international cricket at New Farnley while gaining excellent exposure on our social media platforms and around the ground on match day.
