Letter: Appeal launched to plug Farsley Christmas lights shortfall

Every year and with rising costs it becomes harder to finance the Farsley Christmas Lights Switch On.

This year’s Farsley Light Switch on and fireworks takes place on Wednesday, 29 November 2023.

This is a free event, our thank you to the community of Farsley and surrounding villages for their support throughout 2023, but we do need your help to be able to keep this event going.

Cost this year have soared, nearly doubled since 2019 and 2024 is already on our minds.

Costs are soaring for fireworks, insurance, road closures, first aid support, Christmas Trees, lights, The Pipe Band and the PA system – the list is endless!

We all know that the community enjoys this event each year and just think if everyone who attended just gave £1, it would really help.

If you feel you can donate then please consider making a donation here.

Thank you.

  1. I would wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Our poor animals are tormented at this time of year ( it starts pre bonfire night and continues to new year)
