A special guest has helped cut the ribbon on Bramley Baths’ new-look gym.
71-year-old Annabelle Gaskin is one of the familiar faces you might bump into at the community led Edwardian Baths. She’s been a gym regular for some time now, and has been on quite a journey with her fitness instructor Jennie Ashton.
So it was fitting Annabelle cut the ribbon on the gym, which has had its roof repaired and ceiling re-plastered. The ceiling and walls have been redecorated and we’ve installed new flooring. Annabelle said:
“It looks lovely now and the new flooring has brought it up a treat. It looks like a new gym and I can’t wait to re-start my personal training sessions with Jennie.”
Bramley Baths Chief Executive David Wilford hailed the investment and said:
“It was fitting Annabelle should cut the ribbon on our new-look gym. Working with her fitness instructor Jennie she’s made lots of progress to build herself up and is a really inspiration to us.
“The team has worked hard to get these improvements in place and we know they’re going to enhance people’s experience here. Bramley Baths is renowned for its friendly staff who go that extra mile for people – and we have even more plans to build on this and improve some of our equipment in future.”
Both the pool and gym reopened today following lockdown with a raft of safety and social distancing measures in place. The timetables for both can be found here.
David is also looking to lose three stone in three months – and raise money towards a new piece of equipment for the gym at the same time.
