A volunteer day is being held to tidy Burley Park ahead of winter – and members of the community are being urged to attend.

The Friends of Burley Park group are running t he event on Sunday, 8 October from 10am to 12pm – and there’s lots on the agenda, including:

  • Trim the Lavender hedges
  • Tidy up grass edges around flower beds
  • Cut back hedges
  • Raking and recycling wildflowers in our Orchards
  • And, if there are enough helping hands, planting lovely ferns amongst the flowering shrubs down by the depot.

A spokesperson said: “We would love all to join us to help keep our green space looking great! So if you’re looking for a way to spend time outdoors with this bright Sunday coming up, please do come along and support if you can.”

Attendees should bring any gardening/protective gloves and forks, hand shears or trowels if you have them.

E-mail burleyparkfriends@gmail.com if you have questions.
