In a bold new initiative St Bartholomew’s Church in Armley will be holding a Freeshop between 10am and 4pm on Friday 21st June, writes Glenn Broadbent.

Father Michael Wood of the church said:

“The event is aimed at preventing need and reducing waste. Things left behind by students as they leave for the summer will be available free of charge for people in need.”

Items will include small items of furniture, pots, pans, cutlery, clothes and much more.

The announcement follows the launch of the Thursday Coffee and Chat drop in mornings which will be held every Thursday between 10.30am and 12.30pm giving people the chance to meet new friends in a place of safety.
