Kirkstall has a reputation of having quite the creative community, and following the success of the Kirkstall Art Trail, the ‘village’ will be hosting its second annual advent calendar trail.
The trail started last year as a means to bring the community together after a year of collective uncertainty, the Kirkstall Advent Trail revealed a new window display every day of the advent.
Organisers say it is returning in 2021 to be bigger with more stops on the trail, the Trail will provide a chance to have a wander around the neighbourhood of Kirkstall and look at some home-made back-light art.
Across homes and businesses, a new scene will be unveiled every day from the 1 December until Christmas Eve.
Organiser, Mandy Long – a long time Kirkstall resident – had the idea last year after taking part in the Kirkstall Art Trail “that something like this would really appeal to the art-loving residents”.
A map – reproduced above – shows where all the houses that are lighting up their windows with their designs, will be. In typical advent calendar style, the windows are allocated in a random order!
