Council chiefs are warning pedestrians and motorists using Bramley Town Street to allow extra time for their journeys ahead of footpath reconstruction in the coming month.

The reconstruction will take place on parts of the footway that require maintenance work and will consist of some of the Yorkstone flags being lifted and re-laid, with any missing being replaced. There will also be some kerb repairs taking place.

Work will begin on the path outside The Old Unicorn pub, opposite the bus interchange, on Monday 18 July 2022 and will continue for four weeks. Contractors will work between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday.

Pedestrians will be provided with alternative footway access during the four weeks and roads will remain open with use of temporary traffic lights to manage traffic.

Residents are being asked to ensure their vehicles aren’t parked in the cordoned off areas or the opposite side of the road to the cordoned off areas during the works.

It is also advised that if residents have a driveway and require access to their vehicle during the works that they should park their vehicle off their driveway when work is taking place outside of their property.

The council has promised to keep disruption to a minimum during this footway reconstruction and have apologised for any inconveniences that may be caused during the works.
