Farsley Celtic aim to bounce back to winning ways against King’s Lynn

By Niall Togher

Farsley Celtic will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday when King’s Lynn Town travel to The Citadel from Norfolk.

Clayton Donaldson’s new-look Farsley Celtic suffered their first defeat of the season on Bank Holiday Monday away at Chester after a fantastic opening five games prior to that.

Farsley started that game slowly and found themselves 2-0 down early on and were unable to find a way back into the game after the pace had settled down. They also had to play the majority of the second half with ten men and Conor Branson’s dismissal.

Chester was always going to be a hard place to go to, especially considering the quick turnaround from the 2-2 draw against Tamworth on the Saturday.

Despite this The Celts are still unbeaten at home, drawing their first three home games, and will be looking to claim their first home win of the season, particularly after conceding a dubious injury time penalty against Tamworth.

King’s Lynn picked up their first win of the season last time out, beating Alfreton 2-1. This could be the result that really kickstarts their season after a slow start for them, especially after the standards they set last season where they picked up 93 points on their way to finishing second.

Farsley will be looking to replicate the success they had in this fixture last season, as they took six points off the high-flying King’s Lynn Town despite the two teams finishing at opposite ends of the table.

Farsley won 2-0 at the Citadel and followed it up with a 1-2 win at The Walks respectively, meaning King’s Lynn will be all the more motivated to get a result this Saturday.

Influential defender Tom Allan returns from a three-match suspension, while long-term injuries to defenders Isaac Assenso and Lewis Turner continue to keep them sidelined. Donaldson will be hoping left back George Smith has recovered from the injury which kept him out of the last two matches.
