An empty industrial unit in Armley could be converted into indoor padel courts, if plans are approved by the council.
Applicant Power Padel Group Ltd, of Horsforth, wants to transform the warehouse, in Carr Crofts Drive, and include new rooftop photovoltaics.
The new business would create four full-time jobs and eight part-time positions. There would also be parking for 29 cars.
Internal plans would create four double padel courts and two single courts to the main warehouse area, alongside separate male and female changing rooms with showers, toilets and accessible shower. There would also be a cafe/bar and a viewing area.
A design statement submitted with the application action concluded: “The new facility will be a fantastic addition to the area, providing Leeds residents with an excellent facility to enjoy this fast growing and increasingly popular sport.”
The plans, which were submitted this week, can be viewed in full here.
