Everyone is welcome – with two legs or four – to join the Farnley Hall Park Pride in Place Dog Show this weekend.
The event runs on Sunday, 9 August from 12pm and features a number of categories for dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes.
No pet dog? Come along anyway and help shape the future of Farnley Hall Park.
Farnley East is part of a 10-year, £20 million UK Government Pride in Place community investment programme. Chaired locally by Jo Gittins, the initiative is currently holding resident consultations to shape how the long-term neighborhood funding will be spent.
The neighbourhood board is keen to hear your ideas about how the park could be improved and developed for everyone to enjoy.
They’re encouraging people to say what they love about the park, what facilities or changes would you like to see, path improvements and how to make the park better for all.
Feedback will help inform our Pride in Place Plan and support future improvements to Farnley Hall Park

What a monumental waste of resources. I daily walk over broken paving stones, uneven steps and see rusting railings … Spend time and effort to fix these things.
Well this sort of funding isn’t allowed to be used for what the council ( if they weren’t so short of money) is supposed to do.
Unless of course in this instance they can divert some money if it’s spent in and around the park.
“path improvements” look to be taking place in Farnley Hall Park now. I am confused by the plans. The preparatory work looks to be shallow and the edges not secured. My worry is that any thin layer of tarmac applied would not survive more than a couple of winters. Without the edges, it looks like it might also crumble away at the edge. I hope they do a proper job so that it lasts many decades rather than a few years.
