Christ Church, Armley: Can you help trace historic donors?

The Reverend Arani Sen, the vicar at Christ Church in Upper Armley, is appealing for help to trace the families of two people who donated to the church many years ago. Here’s his post:

Can anyone help? At Christ Church in Armley, the pulpit was donated by Mrs Halliday, wife of Mr Francis Halliday in 1872. The stairs were donated by Walter and Annie Alexander in 1936. Does anyone know who these people are and how we can trace them or their families?

We do actually wish to sell the pulpit as we don’t use it anymore. Ideally we would like to see if the donors’ families can be traced before we make any decisions.

Anyone with information can email me on revaranisen@gmail.com.

Christ Church is a vibrant Anglican church in West Leeds. Our mission is to worship God, help others find a living relationship with him and serve our local community.
