Armley: Woman still in hospital following ‘road rage’ incident

Police are appealing for information after a 52-year-old woman was left with serious head injuries following an altercation in Laurel Place, Armley, writes Keely Bannister.

The incident – on Wednesday 7th August at around 9pm – has left the woman in Leeds General Infirmary receiving treatment.

A “road rage type incident” took place at around 8pm between the woman and a man, who were driving a blue van, and male occupants in a white Kia.

The occupants of both vehicles subsequently got out on Laurel Place at around 9pm when the altercation occurred which left the woman in hospital.

Detective Inspector Ciaran Whoriskey said:

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed this road rage type incident or anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the assault occurring.

“There will likely have been a number of vehicles on the road that evening and someone may recall seeing this unfold.

“If anyone remembers this and has Dash Cam technology fitted in their vehicle, please get in touch.”

Two men both aged 22 years old have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.
