Armley: Three arrests after £10k of suspected counterfeit notes seized

Three arrests have been made following the discovery of over ten thousand pounds in suspected counterfeit notes and printing equipment at an address in Armley.

Two men aged 34 and 28, along with a woman aged 34, have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering. Police seized counterfeit notes, printing equipment, false vehicle documentation and hologram rolls for applying to the fake notes, as well as a locking flick knife.

Detective Sergeant Katie Vaines from the Economic Crime Unit, said: “We are committed to tackling economic crime, and taking these suspected counterfeit notes off the street is a huge step in our efforts to crackdown on counterfeit currency.

“We hope that our proactive operations and these arrests provide reassurance to the public and serve as a warning to others who think they can profit from criminality.”

All three have since been released on Police bail and investigations are ongoing.
