Cyclist dies after Stanningley Road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died on Stanningley Road in Bramley late last night.

The 25-year-old man was involved in a collision at around 10.45pm on Tuesday 28 May on Stanningley Road, near to the junction of Cockshott Lane.

A Mini Cooper and the cyclist were travelling along Stanningley Road towards Bradford, just past the traffic lights at the junction with Cockshott Lane.

There was a collision between the two and the cyclist fell from his bike and suffered serious injuries, which he died from.

A 21-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident or has any dashcam footage, is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101 quoting log number 2023 of 28 May.
