Plans to transform a former Pudsey pub into commercial units and shops have been submitted to Leeds City Council planners.
Applicant Verma Developments wants to change the former Oddfellows Hall Public House, off Richardshaw Lane, to two financial/professional services units and two shops.
Plans also include extensions and alterations to the existing first floor flat, which would have three bedrooms. The pub dates back to 1916.
A design and access statement submitted with the application says plans include four glazed shopfronts and that the proposals are in keeping with original design/scope of materials.

WLD reported last July that plans to demolish the pub were refused by council planners, despite claims from the applicant that it was it was a ‘dangerous’ structure which had fallen into disrepair. The application had sparked local concern, prompting Pudsey’s councillors to object.
The pub has been empty for several years.

Remember great days and nights there in the early Nineties….sad to see it close when it did but at least the attempt to demolish was refused. Hope now it doesn’t “go on fire” during the construction phase.
