Road closures and route for Leeds 10k and Leeds Half Marathon 2021

Roads in Burley and Kirkstall will be affected as both the Leeds Half Marathon and Leeds 10k hit the streets this Sunday.

Leeds Half Marathon

Which Leeds roads will be closed as thousands of runners of all abilities hit the streets on Sunday 5 September 2021 for the Leeds Half Marathon?

The race, which raises many tens of thousands of pounds for charity, gets under way at 9.30am.

Leeds 10k

The race starts at 9am and runs between Leeds city centre and Kirkstall Abbey.

A65 Abbey Road between Hawksworth Road and Commercial Road: 8am-1.15pm.

A65 Commercial Road between Kirkstall Road and Bridge Road/Kirkstall Lane: 8am-1.30pm.

A65 Kirkstall Road between Willow Road/Viaduct Road and A58: 4am-3.30pm.

A65 Kirkstall Road between Willow Road/Viaduct Road and Commercial Road 8am-2pm.

A65 New Road Side between Hawksworth Road and Outwood Lane 8am-1.15pm.

A65 New Road Side between Outwood Lane and Manor Road 8.45am-1.15pm.

A6120 Ring Road Westbound, inner lane only between King Lane and Lawnswood Roundabout 8.45am-2.45pm.

A660 Otley Road – A6120 Ring Road to Weetwood Road 8.45am -12.45pm.

Belgrave Street between Cross Belgrave Street and Merrion Place 4am-12 noon.

Moor Grange Drive between Moor Grange Rise and Spen Lane 8.45am-12.45pm.

From both directions on A6120 Ring Road to Weetwood Lane (North and South)

Mandatory left turn

From Weetwood Lane (North of the A6120 Ring Road) into A6120 Ring Road.

Suspension of Parking

New Road Side (all parking bays) on Saturday 4 September and Sunday 5 September 6pm-1.30pm Clarence Road to Manor Road.

  1. This needs banning! Or the route needs changing.
    The route is a ridiculous circle around most of West Leeds holding thousands of people hostage in their own homes and putting lives at risk should there be a serious incident within the exclusion zone created by road closures. Just so people can run around dressed as carrots!

  2. 2 hours it took me to return to my house after driving around trying to find a way to get home and £20 quid in petrol not to mention my breakfast id just been to get ended uo stone cold and went in the bin!!!!
