Reader’s Letter: Credit unions aim to work more closely together

We are writing to tell you about the arrangements for the annual general meeting (AGM) of West Leeds and Bramley Credit Union at 7pm on Wednesday 24 February 2021.

There are no public meetings due to the Covid-19 lockdown, so our AGM this year will be held on line. We know that not all our members have a computer but sadly we have no choice.

The main issue we need to talk about is the plan to federate with Leeds City Credit Union. We have talked about this in the last two AGMs and now, if you agree, we are ready to move these plans on further and carry out a process of due diligence with Leeds City Credit Union.

This means that we make sure both credit unions are sound organisations in order to protect all our members.

To join the AGM, you need to go to this web site to register via Eventbrite here.

You can do this at any time up to the actual start of the meeting on 24 February. Eventbrite will then send you an e-mail with all the information you need to join the AGM in February.

After the AGM, you will get another letter from us setting out proposals for moving forward with our proposals to work more closely with Leeds City Credit Union.

There will be definite plans set out in this letter which will have a tear off slip on the bottom.

You can fill in this slip and say if you agree or disagree with the steps proposed at the AGM, and you can ask for more information.

We do hope that you will be able to join us on 24 February.

With very best wishes,

Board of Directors, West Leeds & Bramley Credit Union.
