Pudsey Ward local election result 2026: Simon Seary holds for Conservatives

Simon Seary comfortably held the Pudsey seat for the Conservatives at this year’s local elections.

He received 4,415 votes, with Reform’s Robinson in a distant second with 1,531. Labour’s Stephen McBarron finished third with 1,304 votes.

Councillor Seary said he felt proud of retaining his seat, against a backdrop of mixed fortunes for his party nationally.

Thanking his support team for all their work, he put his success down to hard work. Cllr Seary said: “I genuinely care for the community I live in and engage with people as much as I possibly can.

“It’s about being there and being there for people. People can see how passionate I am about the area. Thank you to everyone who voted for me.”

  1. I dont know enough about what u do for our community but obviously people do but I vote and think how I feel…I see a place i dont recognise…i see my mams winter fuel allowance been cut ( not fussed who’s in charge party wise) I see my country let down with illegal immigrants coming in with no papers or passports and getting tret better than hard working people …not racist should be deported…im proud to be English…and want my safe country back tht I grew up as child did..sadly we will never get that back…hopefully the government may finally start doing something and after the results will realise FINALLY were fucked off…I work 4 15 hours shifts paid national insurance all me life and cnt even get to see a dentist…I dont care if u tory Labour reform etc I feel hurt and let down by u all

  2. I can totally resonate, as that is exactly how I feel!! Seen my parents winter fuel allowance cut, can’t get a Doctor’s appointment for weeks, not been able to see an NHS dentist for almost 15 years since I moved from down South, yet they ask if I’m an asylum seeker or immigrant as would then be entitled to priority dental treatment f@@k!! The elderly I visit as a befriender are sat wrapped up in blankets as can’t afford heating. I work hard to pay my mortgage for my home in what used to be a decent area – Next door neighbours from abroad living in the same area which my mates son can’t afford, having all their rent paid for + Universal credit, almost £2000 / month AND the same for her sibling who lives next door to her. I’ve spent years educating myself, contributing to the system & making a difference & it’s every Tom, Dick & Amjad the government is taking care of – Feeling let down by your government & the system is not racist- All of us are feeling it, irrespective of colour or creed 🙁

    • Since the maximum Universal Credit (if they get LCWRA – very few do) is £840 a month and for new claims £640 a month from last April and on anything but LCWRA it’s £400 a month means the landlord is getting the lions share of the £2000 a month you say they get – so between £1,160 and £1,600 to the private landlord (can’t be Council because Council rents are a fraction of that). So that’s where the problem lies – with greedy private landlords, not the benefits claimants.
