Armley has elected a Green Party councillor in today’s Leeds City Council elections.
Clancy Walker held off the challenge of Reform’s Paul Bickerdike to take the seat.
Cllr Walker takes the place of Labour’s Alice Smart, who stepped down as an Armley ward member after 12 years. Labour finished third.
At the count, she thanked everyone for their support and said her campaign was not about politics, but about a united community.
Cllr Walker said: “Thank you to everyone in Armley who put their faith in me. It is an absolute honour to represent the community that is my home.
“The campaign was about community support and neighbours. It was about believing people can work together.
“I am proud to be part of a strong Green team. It has been a team effort.”

At the last local elections in 2024, the Green Party’s Lou Cunningham won the seat, beating Labour’s Richard Banks by 72 votes.
