Pudsey footpath may be diverted to accommodate new houses

A Pudsey footpath could be diverted in order to accommodate a new housing development of eight new homes.

Developer General Contractors (Leeds) Ltd submitted detailed plans for the new homes on land to the north of Gibraltar Road, Pudsey, in March 2022. The proposals are still awaiting planning permission from Leeds City Council.

Part of the development will require the diversion of a public footpath and developers have applied for a diversion order which would close 64 metres of a grass surfaced public footpath and create 51 metres with a mainly tarmac surface.

A council report has authorised the local authority to put together and advertise a Public Path Diversion Order with the proposals for a diversion, which local residents can comment upon.

The council report can be read in full here. The original March 2022 planning application can be found here.
