Prolific burglar sentenced following spate of crimes

A man has been sentenced for a series of burglary and thefts in West Leeds and Bradford.

Kevin Talbot, aged 60, of no fixed abode, was sentenced today at Leeds Crown Court to four years and nine months imprisonment.

Talbot had previously pleaded guilty to burglaries in the Idle area of Bradford on 23 October and 8 November 2025, a burglary in Esholt between 29 October and 3 November 2025, a burglary in Pudsey between 17 and 20 November, an attempt burglary in Calverley on 8 November and the theft of parcels from outside a property in Bramley on 30 October 2025.

He also admitted an offence of aggravated vehicle taking in Harrogate on 22 November and a charge of dangerous driving of that stolen car.

Detective Sergeant Seb Horan, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “Thanks to forensic evidence and doorbell camera and CCTV footage, we were able to link Talbot to multiple burglary offences on the Leeds/Bradford border.

“At the time, he was also wanted for recall to prison. Extensive enquiries were made to locate him. I would like to again thank members of the public who came forward with information off the back of our appeal.

“I hope the affected communities are reassured that a prolific burglar and thief is behind bars.”
