Poetry and pancakes feast to help launch Kirkstall Art Trial 2025

Launching itself with panache, Kirkstall Art Trail will be having a Poetry and Pancake event at the Kirkstall Educational Cricket Club.

The event will be on the Sunday before Pancake Day/Shrove Tuesday.

Partly a fundraiser, partly a volunteer recruitment drive and partly a start of Kirkstall Art Trail’s poetry activities, visitors can come along to the KECC on Queenswood Drive at 3pm on Sunday, 2 March 2025.

There will be a feast of pancakes and poetry, with activities for children and spoken word performances. Pancake proceeds will help support Kirkstall Art Trail, there will also be an opportunity to donate. Drinks will be on sale at the KECC bar.

Pending confirmation of details, the event will also be the launch of the first Kirkstall Art Trail Poetry Competition. This competition is one of a number of poetic activities that organisers have bunbled together.

Kirkstall Art Trail is a free event that places on Saturday, 19 July 2025 and Sunday, 20 July 2025 between 11am-5pm, with venues across Kirkstall hosting artists and workshops.

There will be a upcycle fashion show and spoken word open mic, and a Poetry Trail across Kirkstall during the weekend. Visitors will a digital and hard copy maps to aid their time on the Trail.
