Ofsted inspectors have praised Rodley Village Day Nursery for its ‘good’ provision for local youngsters.
An inspection was held on 6 August 2021 and found the nursery was ‘good’ overall, offering good quality education, personal development and leadership.
Pupils’ behaviours and attitudes were classed as ‘outstanding’. The report said:
“Staff plan a wide range of interesting and challenging activities to inspire children’s curiosity. Children are social and confident individuals who have good communication skills. They are happy in the setting and are keen to share their experiences. Staff know the children they care for very well.”
Inspectors praised a ‘well thought-out’ curriculum at the Rodley Lane nursery, as well as the good opportunities for children to be active. They also highlighted staff support for children’s early language development.
The inspectors highlighted two areas for further improvement:
- Staff should give children more opportunities to test out their own thoughts and ideas as they play, and to help them to learn through trial and error.
- Allow children to hear the correct pronunciation of words, to support their early language development.
