Your say: 95% feel Leeds traffic congestion is getting worse

Leeds traffic congestion IS getting worse, commuters have said.

The Dispatch ran a poll last week asking readers what they thought of problems on the city’s roads – and 95% of you said you thought congestion had become WORSE over the past 12 months. The remaining five per cent said there had been no chance and NONE of you said the situation had improved.

We recorded over 400 votes on the poll.

Following our own comment piece last week, The Yorkshire Post followed suit and asked: What’s the point of HS2 when I can’t get to work in Leeds?

  1. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal is key to reliving traffic congestion during peak periods. There are numerous access points along Leeds and Bradford road which are suitable for a Park and Walk scheme or something similar. The canal route itself needs some work though. It needs to be better lit, safer and a couple of coffee stop type of amenities would be welcome. The natural beauty of the route speaks for itself and also the health benefits of walking in the fresh air are a real plus point. The Fall Woods are real asset to Bramley and more focus should be applied to it in my opinion.
